Getting ready for back to school activities? Here’s a list of back to school terms translated into Spanish. And also a little bit about Lizette Salas and America Ferrera, both unstoppable ladies.

Lizette Salas

  • Born and raised in her East L.A. hometown of Azusa, California.
  • She graduated in 2011 with a degree in Sociology from the University of Southern California.
  • She was the first member of her immediate family to earn a college degree.

Today:
Lizette Salas is an American professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. Salas won her first championship on the LPGA Tour at the 2014 Kingsmill Championship winning by a four-stroke margin.

America Ferrera

  • Born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
  • She graduated in 2013 with a degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California.

Today:
America Ferrera is an award-winning actress and producer known for her breakthrough role as Betty Suarez on the hit comedy Ugly Betty. She’s also very active in getting Latinos to vote.
